Invitation to an online panel discussion on social and digital vulnerability

An international online discussion on defining and measuring vulnerability in digital society will take place on Thursday, 14 May, as part of the DIGI-HR project.

As part of the institutional DIGI-HR research project and the development of international collaboration between the Faculty of Croatian Studies, University of Zagreb, and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, on Thursday, 14 May, starting at 19:30 Croatian time, an online panel discussion entitled ‘Vulnerability: Definition and Measurement’ will take place.

The panel will bring together researchers and interested participants working on social and digital vulnerability, digital inclusion and exclusion, and methodological approaches to defining and measuring vulnerability in contemporary society.

During the discussion, DIGI-HR project leader Assistant Professor Erik Brezovec, PhD, will present the concept of vulnerability in the context of digital inclusion and exclusion, emphasising that vulnerability should not be viewed as a permanent characteristic of particular groups, but as a socially conditioned and measurable relationship arising from limited access to digital resources, communication and participation in everyday life.

The discussion is jointly organised by the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and the Department of Sociology at the Faculty of Croatian Studies, University of Zagreb, as part of collaboration focused on researching digital inclusion, social vulnerability and contemporary methodological approaches to their study.

Participation is open to everyone interested, and no advance registration is required.
